It looks like this could be a busy year for firefighters.
BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire today in the 400 block of McLeish Road on East Vernon Hill.
Fortunately, the homeowner was able to keep the blaze at bay until firefighters arrived to fully extinguish it. Crews spent several hours wetting down the area and ensuring the fire was completely out.
It’s only early March, and while the BC Wildfire Service reports no significant wildfires currently active in British Columbia, some holdover fires from the 2024 season have resurfaced.
Fire crews remain on high alert as dry conditions persist.
