A sharp-eyed witness helped Vernon North Okanagan RCMP arrest a break-and-enter suspect in downtown Vernon.
Police say the call came in shortly before 7 p.m. after a man was seen prying open a door and entering a building in the 3600-block of 30th Avenue.

Officers used the detailed description provided by the witness to track down and arrest the suspect a short time later.
“This is a great example of the public and police working together to curb crime,” said Const. Chris Terleski. “Reporting suspicious activity right away gives us the best chance to catch those responsible.”
A 38-year-old Vernon man was held in custody pending a court appearance.
