VERNON, BC - The Vernon RCMP are investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered on a road in the Mission Hill area early this morning.
The body was reported to the authorities just before 7 am in the 4100 block of 15th Avenue. The identity of the deceased and the cause of death have not yet been released.
The coroner attended the scene. The street was closed during the ongoing investigation. An RCMP canine unit was deployed to search the area for any additional evidence.
The Serious Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services have also been dispatched to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Residents in the area have been advised to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the Vernon RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
More details will be released as the investigation progresses, and the RCMP is asking anyone with information to come forward to help with the investigation.
