Balloon Spotted in Power Lines May Be Cause

VERNON BC– A metallic party balloon tangled in power wires near the Divya Sutra Plaza and Conference Centre at 48th Avenue and 27th Street may have triggered a Labour Day power outage in Vernon BC.

Reports of the balloon were shared on social media, and a balloon could still be seen hanging from the lines shortly after the outage.

Utility crews have not yet confirmed if the balloon was the direct cause of the disruption.
