May 7. 2024: Coldstream Fire Hall responded to reports an excavator ruptured a natural gas line.
The hiss of gas escaping the broken line could be heard from hundreds of meters away
The incident began around 3:30 PM Tuesday May 7 2024.
Crews from Coldstream Fire Hall assisted Fortis Gas close a valve to stop the leak. They also closed roads in the immediate area for a couple hours.
The ruptured natural gas line is located in the 400 block of Morningview Drive, Coldstream, in an area where news homes are under construction.
