Police execute drug search warrant in Vernon
December 6 2022:
Acting on complaints from neighbours, and a subsequent investigation, Vernon North RCMP obtained and executed a search warrant for a residence in the 2800 block of 40th street in Vernon.
Early morning Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Targeted Policing Unit entered the residence and located 12 people.
Four individuals were arrested for reasons including outstanding arrest warrants, breach of release conditions, and or drug-related offences.
Officers also report they found a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, prescription pills, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
There were complaints of large numbers of people coming and going from the location.
"Our investigators are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of prescription pills being found in the possession of drug traffickers, and the seizure of over 2400 pills in this case, is shocking and very concerning," states Sergeant David Evans of the Targeted Policing Unit.
Two of the people arrested at the scene were released with orders to appear before the court.
A 31 year old male and 32 year old female are facing potential drug trafficking charges.
