BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue was dispatched to a Vernon Self Storage business after reports two people had been trapped in one of the units for two days.
The call came in shortly before noon on Saturday (December 9/23).
Turns out the two unidentified people were seeking shelter from the cold by taking refuge in one of the storage units. They were never trapped.
The incident began when voices were heard coming from the storage unit. A concerned person, believing someone was trapped, made a call to 911 emergency.
Police and BC Ambulance also attended the scene. The pair were in good condition but as a precaution, they were taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
There is no criminality associated with this incident.
