January 21, 2023:
On January 19th, the Kamloops RCMP received a report of possible human remains found just above the 700 block of the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy 1), just east of Peterson Creek.
The discovery is near Peterson Creek Park, a popular area for hiking and picnicking.
RCMP and the BC Coroners Service have launched an investigation to determine if the bones are human or from another source.
The RCMP is asking for assistance from the public in this investigation. Anyone with information regarding this discovery or who may have come across any other bones in the area is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
