The degradation of the Rotary Piers support piles has prompted a recommendation from Coldstream city staff to replace its wooden piles with ones made of steel.
The wood deck would also be replaced.
Staff says the replacement option would be more cost-effective than a repair-as-needed strategy.
The pier was originally built and donated to the City of Vernon by the Rotary Club in 1934. It was rebuilt in 1949.
