Quick Work by Lavington and Coldstream Fire Halls Saves House
Around 5 PM Friday, Lavington and Coldstream Fire Halls responded to reports of a chimney fire in the 7200 Block of Highway 6. When crews arrived, the fire was threatening to spread into the walls. Firefighters quickly extinguished the chimney fire and saved the building. There are no reports of injuries. No word on when the residents can return home. Highway 6 through Coldstream Closed After Motor Vehicle Accident
Once again, an accident has closed Highway 6 through Coldstream. Approximately at 8:45 AM, emergency responders from Coldstream and Lavington Fire Halls were called to a collision between an SUV and a Semi. BC Ambulance and RCMP also attended the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, despite airbags being deployed in the SUV. No cause or details regarding what transpired have been released. Fireworks Spark Grass Fire at Kalamalka Lookout
Coldstream Fire Hall responded to reports fireworks had ignited grass just beyond the fence at the Kalamalka Lookout on Kalamalka Lookout Road. The Incident was reported just after 7:30 Sunday evening. Coldstream Firefighters quickly extinguished the small blaze. House Fire in Okanagan's Lake Country
9700 block, Chase road, Lake Country. The house fire was first called in just after 10 pm Saturday, November 3, 2022. No injuries have been reported. Little to nothing is known at this point. About 100 people gathered around the Coldstream Cenotaph this Remembrance Day to pay respect to those who gave their lives for the freedom we take for granted today.
