June 7 2026 - Early Sunday morning, an unexpected dusting of snow on the Coquihalla Connector caught several drivers off guard, leading to a number of vehicles sliding off the road.

Travellers reported at least six cars in the ditch near the connector summit, the result of overnight conditions on Highway 97C.
While the roadway itself remained clear by early morning, some snow lingered on the sides with temperatures hovering just above freezing.
As quickly as the snow came, it was gone
Despite the slick surprises overnight, the route was reported as smooth sailing for those travelling from Vancouver to Kelowna early Monday.
Highway 97C is known for rapid weather changes, including occasional summer snow at higher elevations.
Drivers are reminded to check conditions and carry appropriate gear when crossing the Coquihalla, especially during shoulder seasons.
