Power Outage Affects 1,646 Customers in Vernon’s BX / East Area

June 25 2026 - Approximately 1,646 BC Hydro customers remain without power Thursday evening after a tree came down across power lines mid afternoon.

High winds are believed to have brought down a tree onto power lines.

The outage started at 3:16 p.m. PT on Thursday, June 25, in the area east of Grey Canal Road in the BX / East Vernon neighbourhood.

Crews are on-site and have been working since early evening to clear the tree and make repairs.

As of the last update at 6:05 p.m. PT Thursday, restoration efforts were actively underway, but no new estimated restoration time has been issued.
