Single-Vehicle Crash Results in Lane Closure on Trans-Canada Highway
June 202026 - Traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) east of Salmon Arm was restricted this morning following a single-vehicle incident just before 7:30 a.m.

Reports indicate a vehicle left the roadway and went down a treed bank near the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Kangaroo Road.
A lone occupant required extraction from the vehicle
Emergency crews, including Salmon Arm Rescue, Salmon Arm Fire Department, a Low Angle Rescue Team, RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, and Ministry of Transportation road crews, responded to the scene.
Drivers can expect disruptions as crews work to secure the vehicle and complete the extraction.
No information has been released yet on the extent of any injuries or the cause of the crash.
The location is near the same stretch of the Trans Canada highway where a serious head-on collision occurred one week ago on June 13, 2026. In that earlier incident near Canoe, a rental Toyota Corolla attempting to pass a semi-truck crossed the centre line and was struck by a westbound semi, critically injuring all four occupants in the car. In that incident the highway was closed for much of the day.
