CFSEU-BC Deploys Gang Enforcement Team in North Okanagan
2022-09-26: This past weekend, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) deployed their Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) to support frontline policing in the North Okanagan.
From Friday to Sunday, UGET officers focused on several known crime hot spots, resulting in the seizure of firearms, drugs, and other weapons. Superintendent Blake MacLeod, Officer in Charge of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, emphasized the importance of UGET's presence, stating it strengthens the region's crime prevention strategy by disrupting potentially violent criminal activity.
Sgt. Brenda Winpenny, CFSEU-BC Media Relations Officer, noted that the deployment is crucial for reducing gang-related violence. "By collaborating with various policing agencies throughout British Columbia, we enhance our efforts to minimize gang-related crime and associated threats to community safety,"
