Power Outages in Vernon and Coldstream

Two areas are currently experiencing power outages due to separate incidents.

Tuesday July 16 2024: In Vernon, a downed wire in the 5300 block of 26th Street has affected 1,751 customers. The outage, which has impacted areas west of Phillips Rd, east of 40th Ave, north of Highway 6, and south of Rimer Rd, began at 8:49 a.m. Crews are on-site and estimate power will be restored by 10:30 a.m. The latest update was at 9:17 a.m.


In Coldstream, a transformer blew near Highway 6 and Grey Road, causing an outage for 503 customers.



The incident, which started at 8:51 a.m., led to a small grass fire that Coldstream fire crews promptly extinguished.


The affected area includes locations north of Vimy Rd, east of Road A, and west of Locke Dr.


The cause of the outage is still under investigation, and crews have been assigned to the scene. The latest update was at 9:26 a.m.
