55 Year Old Woman Punched Repeatedly in Vernon Elevator by Stranger

Vernon RCMP are investigating the disturbing assault.



December 29th, 2022:


A 55-year-old woman was assaulted in a residential elevator after she refused to give an unknown man "money and a place to stay".


The assault took place in Vernon on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 shortly after 11 p.m., at a residential building in the 3300 block of 35th Ave.



RCMP: "The victim was in an elevator with an unknown man who asked her for money and a place to stay. When she refused, the suspect became angry and punched her several times. The victim, a 55-year old woman, was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries".


RCMP North Okanagan is asking the public for help identifying the suspect.


The suspect is described as a "tall, Caucasian male, with a muscular build, and dark brown hair with a scraggly beard. He was wearing a dark hoodie and boots" at the time of the assault.
